Sam’s Early Music Experience
Sam played piano from age 8–10, quit, and then started to play guitar at 14, figuring out Metallica solos about six months in. In high school he played in Jazz Band for three years. Senior year in high school he tutored the advanced part of the beginning guitar class and also wrote the score for a Latin Jazz piece for a 17 piece jazz band. His score won an award at the Reno Jazz Festival in 2005.
Sam’s Music Training and Experience
Sam attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. There he developed his understanding of what it takes to be a real musician.
He has played everywhere from African American Baptist churches to country music venues. He plays Rock to Bues to Jazz and just about anything in between is on his play list.
